  • Biographical Presentation

    Zell: Georg Z., Bildhauer, wurde im J. 1810 in München geboren und auf der dortigen Akademie und später unter Schwanthaler's Leitung für seinen Beruf ausgebildet. Nach einem vorübergehenden Aufenthalt in Stuttgart kehrte er nach München zurück, wo er Conservator am Schwanthaler-Museum wurde. Er starb in München am 14. Juli 1878 im 68. Lebensjahre. Von seinen Arbeiten werden angeführt die Marmorstatue des Adels und der Religion, die er für das Grabmal des Königs Max II., in der Theatinerkirche in München anfertigte, und die Statue des Kurfürsten Karl Ludwig von der Pfalz in der historischen Galerie des bairischen Nationalmuseums.
