Biographical Presentation
Collin: Heinrich Joseph C., Arzt, geb. 11. Aug. 1731 in Wien, hat daselbst 1760 die med. Doctorwürde erlangt, trat nach Stoerk's (vgl. denselben) Abgang von dem Pazmannischen Krankenhause an die Stelle desselben und beschäftigte sich, in gleicher Weise wie dieser und von ihm unterstützt, mit der Erforschung der Wirkungsweise verschiedener Heilmittel (Campher, Arnica, Polygela, Cireta, Colchicum, Aconit u. a.) in Krankheiten, jedoch in höchst unkritischer und oberflächlicher Weise. C. gehört der Zeit der alten Wiener Schule an, in welcher der Glanz dieser bereits im Erlöschen war; seine Untersuchungen und Beobachtungen hat er in mehreren monographischen Schriften (vgl. das Verzeichniß derselben in Engelmann, Bibl. med.-chir. p. 117) und in den von ihm herausgegebenen Hospitalberichten („Nosocom. civici Pazmanniani annus med. tertius etc.“, Vienn. 1764. 8 und „Observationum circa morbos acutos et chronicos factarum pars II—VI.“, ib. 1772—81. 8), welche als Fortsetzung der Stoerk’schen Hospitalberichte erschienen sind, veröffentlicht.
