Biographical Presentation
Schmitt: Wolfgang S., Kanonist, geb. zu Hummelburg, † am 19. Nov. 1779. Ueber seine Lebensverhältnisse ist nichts Näheres bekannt, als daß er nach seinen Schriften Franciscaner (ord. min. strict. observ. recoll.) und Lector des kanonischen Rechts im Convent zu Frauenberg bei Fulda noch 1772 war. Schriften: „Institutiones iuris ecclesiastici universalis ad statum Germaniae catholicum accommodatae ac in V libros ad faciliorem iuris canonici candidatorum usum distributae et expositae.“ Fuldae 1758. Wirceb. 1772. 5 P. 4°; „Disquisitio canonico-publica de eo quod circa reservationes pontificias ex concordatis Germaniae generatim iustum est.“ Fulda 1773; „Diss. hist.-can. de eo quod circa expectationes ad canonicatus ex statutis et observantiis Germaniae iustum cet.“ ib. 1777 (Mayer, Thesaurus I, 249).
