  • Biographical Presentation

    Sas: Cornelius t'S., Theolog, geboren in Turnhout (Belgien), † zu Mecheln am 8. October 1656. Er war 1617 Professor der Philosophie in Löwen, später am Pädagogium castrense und Seminar in Mecheln, wo er 1627 auch eine Präbende an der Metropolitankirche erhielt, machte 1632 aus Auftrag des Erzbischofs Jakob Boonen (III, 138) eine Reise nach Rom, vertauschte 1638|die Mechelner Präbende gegen eine zu Ypern mit Amatus Coriachus, bekleidete mehrere Jahre das Amt des Officials und 1653 bei der Sedisvacanz das des Generalvicars. Schriften: „Epitome praxeos virtutum theologicarum fidei, spei et caritatis, praesertim qua media sunt salutis.“ Romas typis Vaticanis 1631. 12. Ueber die durch ein Decret Innocenz XII. vom 6. August 1632 condemnirten 7 Sätze, die auch in diesem, P. Urban VIII. gewidmeten und von dem Magister S. Palatii approbirten Buche stehen und den amüsanten Titel, unter dem sie deutsch noch heute im Index stehen, Reusch, der Index II, 529 folg. „Oecumenicum de singularitate clericorum illorumque cum feminis extraneis vetito contubernio iudicium, tribus constans partidus.“ Brux. 1653, 4.
