  • Biographical Presentation

    Mursinna: Samuel M., reformirter Theologe, wurde am 12. November 1717 zu Stolpe in Hinterpommern geboren, empfing daselbst seine elementare, in Berlin seine Gymnasialbildung und studirte zu Halle seit 1738. Nach Ablauf seiner Studienzeit war er erst in einigen Hauslehrerstellungen, bis es ihm durch hohe Connexion gelang, ein Lehramt am Berliner Joachimsthal’schen Gymnasium zu erhalten. Von da aus wurde er 1758 als ordentlicher Professor der Theologie und als Ephorus des reformirten Gymnasiums nach Halle berufen und wirkte hier bis an seinen Tod 1795. Seine Schriften zeugen von dem lebendigen Interesse, welches er sowohl der Theologie als auch dem Gymnasialfach entgegenbrachte. Wir nennen seine „Encyclopaedia theologica“, Hal. 1764 und „Primae Lineae encyclopaediae theol.“, Hal. 1784; ferner das „Compendium theologiae dogmaticae“, Hal. 1777; Dasselbe deutsch unter dem Titel: „Lehrbuch der Dogmatik“, 1785; „Compendium theologiae moralis“, 1778. In das Gebiet der Humaniora dagegen gehören zwei von ihm edirte Biographiensammlungen unter dem Titel „Klassische Biographie“, 1767. 68 (2 Bde.) und „Biographia selecta“, 1782. — Als Dogmatiker vertrat er den Standpunkt eines aufgeklärten Supranaturalismus (vgl. Dogmatik § 58 ff.). —
