    Müller: Karl Gotthold M., Professor der Theologie zu Jena, ein Sohn des Weimarischen Leibarztes Johann Caspar M., geb. 14. Januar 1717 erhielt seine Vorbildung in Schulpforta, studirte seit 1734 in Jena, ward hier 1739 Dr. phil., 1741 Adjunct in der Philosophischen Facultät, 1745 außerordentl. Professor der Philosophie, 1752 ordentl. Professor der Beredsamkeit, 1759 dritter Professor der Theologie, starb aber schon am 12. August 1760. Für deutsche Sprache und Litteratur war er thätig als Vorsitzender der deutschen Gesellschaft der schönen Wissenschaften.
