Biographical Presentation
Milz: Johann Heinrich M., geb. zu Koblenz am 21. November 1763, studirte zu Trier Theologie und wurde am 21. December 1786 zum Priester|ordinirt, worauf er noch in Görtingen die Rechte betrieb. Zuerst als Professor am Gymnasium zu Koblenz angestellt, wurde er dann Canonicus an St. Castor daselbst, nach Auflösung dieses Stifts 1813 geistlicher Rath und Pfarrer an St. Castor, endlich Provicarius generalis und königlicher Rath in kirchlichen Angelegenheiten. Nach Wiedererrichtung des Trierischen Sitzes wurde er von Leo XII. am 19. December 1825 als Bischof von Sarepta dem Bischof von Hommer als Weihbischof beigegeben und am 23. April 1826 im Dom zu Trier consecrirt. Seine Kränklichkeit gestattete ihm keine sehr ausgebreitete Wirksamkeit. Er starb am 29. April 1833 in Koblenz und wurde dort am 2. Mai begraben.
