Biographical Presentation
Brunchorst: Christoph B. geb., 13. Nov. 1604 zu Erfurt, † 26. März 1665, wurde Pfarrer zu Tüpfern und, als Herzog Wilhelm von Weimar, damaliger schwedischer Generallieutenant, sich des Eichsfelds bemächtigt hatte, Inspector und Superintendent über Kirchen und Schulen daselbst. Nach dem Prager Frieden ging er nach Weimar (1636) und war mit thätig bei der Ausarbeitung der sogenannten Ernestinischen Bibel, wurde hierauf Pfarrer zu Hohlstedt und endlich 1640 Hofprediger und Consistorialassessor zu Gotha. Er schrieb: „Suscitabulum oder Christliche Aufmunterung, Gott und seine Wohlthaten recht zu erkennen.“
