Biographical Presentation
Marquardt: Konrad Gottlieb M., Mathematiker, geb. am 20. Octbr. 1694 in Dollstädt in Ostpreußen, † am 17. Febr. 1749 in Königsberg. Er studirte in Königsberg, Halle, Jena; erlangte in Jena die Magisterwürde, habilitirte sich aber nach einigen Reisen durch Deutschland 1722 in Königsberg für das mathematische Lehrfach, in welchem er sich so sehr auszeichnete, daß für ihn eine außerordentliche Professur der Mathematik eingerichtet wurde, da keine andere Stelle frei war. Seine Schriften sind ziemlich verschollen.
