  • Biographical Presentation

    B. studierte Rechtswissenschaft in Göttingen und Heidelberg. Nach längerer Verwendung im badischen Verwaltungsdienst wurde er 1841 Assessor und 1843 Ministerialrat im Justizministerium. 1849 zum Generalauditor beim badischen Armeekorps ernannt, verblieb er in diesem Amt bis zum Übergang der Militärhoheit an Preußen. Seine ausgedehnte gesetzgeberische Tätigkeit fand ihren Niederschlag in zahlreichen Schriften zu Fragen des Verwaltungs-, Straf-, Kriminal- und vor allem des Militärstrafrechts. Als Regierungskommissar bei den beiden Kammern des Landtages hat er maßgeblichen Einfluß auf die badische Gesetzgebung von 1843 bis 1872 ausgeübt. - 1857 Dr. jur. h. c. Freiburg (Breisgau).
