  • Biographical Presentation

    Magirus: Jacob M., geb. am 26. März 1564 zu Vaihingen in Württemberg, wo sein Vater Johann M. (s. u.) damals Specialsuperintendent und Stadt-Pfarrer war. Er kam im J. 1580 in das theologische Stift zu Tübingen, wurde 1583 Magister, bekleidete dann an mehreren Orten geistliche Aemter und ward zuletzt im J. 1602 Abt im Kloster Lorch, wo er am 2. Juni 1624 starb. Er hat einige geistliche Lieder gedichtet, unter Anderem das Lied „Mein Herz dichtet ein seines Lied, freut sich im Herrn und wird nicht müd“. Drei Lieder von ihm haben (nach Richter) im Stuttgarter Gesangbuch von 1656 Aufnahme gefunden.
