Biographical Presentation
Boll: Heinrich Bernhard B., geboren zu Stuttgart am 7. Juni 1756, trat in den Jesuitenorden, nach dessen Aufhebung in das Benedictinerstift Salem¶, von wo aus er als Lehrer an das Kloster Thennenbach¶ geschickt wurde. Nach der Säcularisation wurde er zuerst Professor der Philosophie an der Universität Freiburg, sodann Münsterpfarrer daselbst; 1827 wählte ihn das Domcapitel zum Erzbischof und er erhielt die päpstliche Bestätigung. Als Erzbischof zeichnete er sich durch jene milde, humane und tolerante Gesinnung aus, die Männer wie Wessenberg am Oberrhein zur herrschenden Richtung unter dem Clerus gemacht hatten. Er starb am 6. März 1836. |
