    B. trat 1896 zu Fulda in den Franziskanerorden. 1906-17 unterrichtete er am deutschen Ordensgymnasium Watersleyde bei Sittard (Holland) in Deutsch und Geschichte, wohnte ab 1916 in Kelkheim bei Frankfurt, ab 1921 in Hadamar bei Limburg und ab 1928 in Fulda. Im Umkreis dieser Orte pflegte er unter persönlicher Regie das Volksschauspiel auf Freilichtbühnen. Höhepunkte großen Erfolges waren „Johann Ludwig [von Nassau-Hadamar], des Volkes und des Friedens Hort“ (1924) und „Die Herrin der Wartburg“ (1931), das auch von der Passionsbühne Erl in Tirol übernommen wurde. 1907-41 leitete er den weit über Deutschland verbreiteten „St. Antonius-Kalender“, 1917-41 die „Deutsche Terziaren-Zeitung“ und drei religiöse Monatsblätter für die Jugend, die zeitweise in mehreren hunderttausend Exemplaren gehalten wurden. B. suchte im Volke eine kernige, ungezwungene Frömmigkeit zu fördern.
