Biographical Presentation
Köhler: Valentin K., oder Colerus, ein Komponist des 16. Jahrhunderts, war um 1550 zu Erfurt geboren und Kantor, oder wie man es damals nannte „Phonascus“ in Sondershausen. Walther verzeichnet von ihm eine Sammlung Messen und Magnificat, die er 1599 in Erfurt drucken ließ, sowie er 1604 noch eine Sammlung 4-, 5- und 8-stimmiger Cantiones sacrae veröffentlichte. Diesen fügt Gerber noch eine Sammlung „Lustige Intraden“, Jena 1605 hinzu. Auf den öffentlichen Bibliotheken Deutschlands ist mir bis jetzt noch kein Exemplar seiner Drucke in die Hände gekommen.
