Bezelin-Alebrand Bezold, Friedrich Gustav Johannes von

    Ratsherrenfamilie in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, deren Stammreihe mit Egydius B. (um 1450–1525) aus Gallachostheim bei Uffenheim, Mitglied des Äußeren Rates in Rothenburg, beginnt. Die Brüder Daniel Gustav (Großvater von Friedrich [s. 1], in 2. Ehe Vater von Wilhelm [s. 2] und Johann Daniel Christoph (1789–1855), Arzt in Ansbach, erhielten 1843 die bayerische Adelsanerkennung. Des letzteren Sohn →Albert (1836–68), seit 1861 ordentlicher Professor der Physiologie in Jena, seit 1865 in Würzburg, beschäftigte sich insbesondere mit der elektrischen Reizung der Nerven und Muskeln und mit der Physiologie des Blutkreislaufs. Ein Enkel von Daniel Gustav, →Gustav (1848–1934), Architekt und 1894-1920 als Nachfolger A. von Essenweins 1. Direktor des Germanischen Nationalmuseums in Nürnberg, leitete mit P. Riehl die Inventarisation der Kunstdenkmäler Bayerns (Band I: Oberbayern, 1895–1908) und errichtete 1897-1901 nach eigenen Entwürfen den Südwestbau.
