  • Biographical Presentation

    Kauth: Joh. K., geb. in Bernkastel, lebte als Jesuit den größten Theil seines Lebens in Trier, dann in Hadamar, wo er starb. Geburts- und Todesjahr sind unbekannt. Im J. 1719 gab er zu Trier eine Schrift „Negotium bonae mortis“ heraus; sein Hauptwerk war aber sein „Breviarium omnium Sanctorum Trevirensium“, welches in der Originalhandschrift zu Hadamar erhalten ist; Hontheim besaß eine Copie, die er der Trierischen Stadtbibliothek hinterließ. J. J. Moser (Churtrier. Staatsrecht, S. 292) urtheilt günstig über diese niemals gedruckte Arbeit.
