  • Biographical Presentation

    K. wirkte als Arzt in Halle/Saale. Er wurde bekannt durch seine Schrift „De gubernanda sanitate secundum sex res non naturales ex Hippocratis et Galeni libris placita quaedam desumpta“, die in späteren Auflagen auch den Titel trug: „Nonnulla de regimine sanitatis iuxta sex res non naturales placita ex Hippocratis et Galeni libris desumpta, cum aliis, tum literarum studiosis et iis, qui minus exercentur, cognitu necessaria“. Sie erschien erstmals in Leipzig 1549, dann in Frankfurt 1557 und 1570. Vom Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts bis weit ins 17. Jahrhundert hinein wurde sie mehrfach zusammen mit dem berühmten „Regimen sanitatis Salernitanum“ in einem Band herausgegeben (Genf 1599, Frankfurt 1605, Antwerpen 1624, Frankfurt 1628, Luxemburg 1628, Rotterdam 1657, Den Haag 1683). Es handelt sich um ein in der antikmittelalterlichen diätetischen Tradition stehendes „Regimen sanitatis“, das sich vor allem auf Hippokrates und Galen bezieht. Inhalt und Aufbau werden bestimmt durch den Kanon der „sex res non naturales“ (1. „aer“, 2. „cibus et potus“, 3. „repletio et evacuatio, “, 4. „exercitium seu motus et quies“, 5. „somnus et vigilia“, 6. „accidentia seu motus animi“). Ziel ist die Belehrung über eine gesunde Lebensführung, wie sie nur durch Regulierung und strenge Ordnung der „sex res non naturales“ möglich ist. Der wirkmächtige Traktat unterscheidet sich im Prinzip nicht von den mittelalterlichen Gesundheitsregimina. Lediglich im unmittelbaren Rückgriff auf die antiken Quellen der Diätetik unter Ausklammerung der vermittelnden arabischen Autoritäten bekundet sich humanistischer Geist.
