  • Biographical Presentation

    Kämpff: Johann K., auch Kampff und Kampf genannt, wurde geboren zu Staffelstein in Franken, von wo er mit seinem Vater, der um seines evangelischen Glaubens willen vertrieben ward, nach Koburg kam. Hier besuchte er das Gymnasium und studirte dann in Wittenberg und Jena. Im J. 1604 wurde er Diakonus zu Gotha und hier starb er im J. 1625 an der Pest. Er ist der Dichter des schönen geistlichen Liedes: „Wenn ich in Todesnöthen bin“, das durch das Freylinghausen’sche Gesangbuch von 1704 eine größere Verbreitung gefunden hat.
