  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach Studium in Königsberg wurde B. 1692 in der Schloßkirche ordiniert und 1693 Pfarrer an der neu fundierten Kirche in Mehlkehmen, 1708 Pfarrer in Enzuhnen, 1711 Erzpriester in Insterburg. Als vorzüglicher Kenner der litauischen Sprache nahm er Anteil an den Bemühungen →J. J. Quandts um die Seelsorge in litauischer Sprache für die litauisch sprechenden Ostpreußen. Er arbeitete an der Verbesserung der litauischen Bibel, zu der er die Vorrede schrieb, und übersetzte mehrere Kirchenlieder für das litauische Gesangbuch.
