    Zu dem Adelsgeschlecht mit Stammhaus Hoym bei Quedlinburg gehören unter anderem: →Friedrich († 1382), seit 1357 Bischof von Merseburg, 1382 Erzbischof von Magdeburg, und die beiden Bischöfe von Halberstadt Johann (seit 1419, † 1436) und Gebhard (seit 1458, res. 1479, † 1484). Heinrich war um 1550 Statthalter des Bistums Halberstadt. Dessen Sohn Christoph wurde Präsident des Fürstentums Anhalt und erwarb 1576 in Thüringen die Herrschaft Droyßig bei Weißenfels. Er stiftete die sächsisch Linie des Geschlechts, die braunschweig. Linie breitete sich später auch in Pommern und Schlesien aus. Aus dieser stammt Ludwig Graf (preußisch Graf 1809, 1750-1811), preußisch Geheime(r) Oberfinanzrat und Präsident der südpreuß. Kriegs- und Domänenkammer in Warschau.
