  • Biographical Presentation

    H., der Ruf und Ruhm des Namens begründet, läßt sich erstmals 1469 fassen. Er arbeitet für Kaiser Friedrich III., 1480 auch schon für Maximilian I., der ihn 1491 als Hofplattner bedienstet. Da schon 1492 der Sohn, Kolman, an seiner Seite steht, ist sein Anteil an den aus der H.schen Werkstatt in der Zeit um die Jahrhundertwende hervorgegangenen Arbeiten nicht in jedem Falle sicher zu bestimmen. Durch die Meistermarke (Stechhelm mit Kreuzzimier) beglaubigte Werke seiner Hand sind die Harnische Erzherzog Sigmunds und König Maximilians, 3 Stechzeuge in der Wiener Waffensammlung und ein Harnisch für Mann und Roß im Historischen Museum in Bern, Arbeiten höchster Meisterschaft, reinblütig spätgotisch, wie das wohl alle seine Arbeiten gewesen sind.
