  • Biographical Presentation

    H. trat als Werkmeister in das Unternehmen seines Vetters →Gottlieb Haubold ein. Als dieser 1837 seine Stellung als technischer Leiter bei der Sächsischen Maschinenbau-Compagnie aufgab, machte sich H. selbständig und gründete die Firma C. G. Haubold jr. In eigener Werkstatt baute er seit 1837 Maschinen, vor allem vollständige Ausrüstungen für Spinnereien und Webereien, dann auch für die Textilveredelung. Dazu gehörte der Bau von Perrotinen, Zentrifugen und Kalandern. Bald erweiterte er seine Produktion auf die Herstellung von Papier-Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen und Mühlenanlagen. H. hatte wie sein Vetter Carl Gottlieb mit Schwierigkeiten wegen der Erlangung seiner Patente zu kämpfen. Trotz der Erfolge H.s blieb das Unternehmen zu seinen Lebzeiten ein Betrieb mittlerer Größe. Erst unter seinen Nachkommen erlangte es seine spätere Bedeutung (1918 AG).
