  • Biographical Presentation

    B. errichtete den größten Kirchenbau der Vorarlberger Bauschule in Vorarlberg, die Klosterkirche Mehrerau (ab 1740, abgebrochen 1808), die sich an das Vorarlberger Münsterschema anschließt und deren im Grundriß geschwungene Westfassade auf Weingarten und Einsiedeln zurückgeht. Die von B. erweiterte Pfarrkirche in Bregenz mit dem flachgewölbten Langhaus und den kurzen Querarmen hat vielfach vorbildlich gewirkt, insbesondere bei den Kirchen →Johann Ferdinand B.s (s. 3).
