    Hack: Jakob H., geb. zu Jülich i. J. 1579, gehörte seit seinem 15. Lebensjahre dem Jesuitenorden an, und starb 1636 zu Komotau in Böhmen. In der Geschichte der katholischen Theologie ist er als Controversist gegen den Calvinismus bekannt. Seine Hauptschrift ist betitelt: „Solida responsio ad quatuor quaestiones“ (Olmütz 1617). Grundinhalt derselben: Die Calviner können ihre Lehren nicht aus den Vätern der ersten vier Jahrhunderte erweisen, sind vielmehr Continuatoren der Picarditen und Hussiten; ihre Grundanschauung ist ethischer Fatalismus, welcher Gott zum Urheber der Menschensünde macht.
