  • Biographical Presentation

    G. trat nach dem Studium an der TH Stuttgart und praktischer Tätigkeit im Wasserversorgungsfach beim Bauamt für das öffentliche Wasserversorgungswesen in Stuttgart ein, dessen Leiter er 1906-33, zuletzt als Oberbaurat, war. In dieser Zeit wurde der Bau von Wasserversorgungsanlagen in Württemberg intensiv weitergeführt, so daß 1933 95 % aller Gemeinden zentral versorgt waren. Von besonderer Bedeutung ist dabei die von ihm geplante und gebaute „Württembergische Landeswasserversorgung“, die erste deutsche Fernwasserversorgung, die 1917 in Betrieb genommen wurde. 1933-48 war G. technischer Berater der Vereinigung der Wasserversorgungsverbände in Württemberg und Hohenzollern (VEDEWA), einer von ihm geschaffenen kommunalen Selbsthilfeorganisation zur technischen Beratung und Betriebsüberwachung von Wasserwerken, die auch außerhalb Württembergs Beachtung gefunden hat.|
