Biography
Grape: Zacharias G. d. J. (Grapius), geboren zu Rostock am 6. October 1671, studirte hier 1689, in Greisswald 1690, wieder in Rostock 1692 und in Leipzig 1694, wurde hier 1694 Magister und eröffnete Collegia ling. orientalis et philosophica. 1696 kehrte er nach Rostock zurück, wurde 1697 Baccalaureus, am 8. April 1699 Archidiacon an der St. Jacobi-Kirche und 1699 Licentiat der Theologie und ordentlicher Professor der Physik und Metaphysik, 1701 Doctor der Theologie, 1704 Professor der Theologie, am 9. Febr. 1713 Consistorialrath und Superintendent, starb aber schon 2 Tage später, am 11. Febr. 1713. Von seinen Schriften sind zu erwähnen: „Theologia recens controversa“ (mit seinem Bildniß) in 4 Theilen. — „Historia literaria Alcorani". — „Ahmet Ben Abdallae epistola theologica de articulis quibusdam fidei“.
