  • Biographical Presentation

    Baring: Nicolaus B., Sohn des Predigers Eberhard Baring, Bruder des Philologen Eberhard Baring, geb. in dem mecklenburgischen Kloster Zarentin 9. März 1607, † in Hannover 1648. Er ward 1619 nach Lüneburg in die Schule geschickt, ging dann mit seinem Vater nach Braunschweig, von da 1624|nach Hamburg und 1627 auf die Universität Helmstedt. 1632 wurde er Feldprediger bei dem Mütschefahlischen Regimente; in dieser Stellung ließ er seine „Triumphalia Hamelensia, d. i. eine christliche Dankpredigt für die herrliche und hochansehnliche Victorie, welche Gott Herzog Georgen zu Braunschweig und Lüneburg bey Oldendorf am 28. Jun. 1633 gnädiglich verliehen hat“ (Braunschweig 1634) drucken. Am 11. Juli 1636 wurde er Prediger zu Wilkenburg und am 28. März 1641 an der Egidienkirche zu Hannover. 1643 ging er an die Marktkirche daselbst über. Außer einer Reihe von Predigten sind von ihm zwei Abhandlungen gedruckt: „De Crucis signo a Constantino conspecto“ und „Disquisitio, quod Maria Magdalena non fuerit peccatrix“.
