  • Biographical Presentation

    A. war Prediger an den französischen Kirchen in Berlin, Rat und Assessor des französischen Oberkonsistoriums und Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften in Berlin und Rouen. Dort erhielt er einen Preis für seine Abhandlung „Quels sont outre l'inspiration les caractères qui assurent aux livres saintes la supériorité sur les livres profans?“. A. war ein bekannter Kanzelredner, er hielt die Trauerrede über Friedrich II. in der Kirche zu Potsdam und über die Prinzessin Amalie.

    Ancillon: Louis Frédéric A., Sohn des Frédéric (Luc) A. und der Naudé, geheimer und Oberconsistorialrath, Mitglied der Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Berlin und Rouen, geb. 21. Mai 1740, 13. Juni 1814 zu Berlin. Er genoß seine Schulbildung in seiner Vaterstadt, wurde 1759 Proposant, 1761 ministre catéchiste und 1765 Prediger an der französischen Klosterkirche daselbst. 1796 trat er in das preußische Oberconsistorium ein und wurde geheimer Rath im großen französischen Directorium. Mit dem Tage der Feier des 50jährigen Jubiläums legte er, kurz vor seinem Tode, sein Amt nieder. Seine Schriften, deren Verzeichniß Eug. et Em. Haag, „La France protestante“ geben, zeugen von theologischer Gelehrsamkeit und philosophischer Bildung. Er war als Kanzelredner berühmt.
