  • Biographical Presentation

    Nach dem Besuch des Gymnasiums wurde F. Apotheker und studierte dann von 1892 an in Genf Chemie (Dr. phil. 1895), in Berlin Pharmazie und in Straßburg Medizin (Dr. med. 1902). 1907 wurde er Privatdozent, 1913 außerordentlicher Professor in Freiburg/Breisgau. Von 1915 an hatte er das Ordinariat für Pharmakologie in Königsberg/Preußen inne, 1921-24 in Leipzig, anschließend bis zu seiner Emeritierung 1937 in Bonn. – Als Schüler von Schmiedeberg, H. H. Meyer und W. Straub widmete er sich vielfältigen Fragen der Pharmakologie und insbesondere auch der Toxikologie. F. war an der Entwicklung der Materia medica zur experimentellen Pharmakologie wesentlich beteiligt.
