Biographical Presentation
Bachschmidt: Anton B., Musiker, geb. zu Mölk in Oeterreich um 1709, † zu Eichstädt um 1780, erst Thürmer in seiner Vaterstadt, dann Posaunist in der bischöflichen Kapelle in Würzburg, darauf Posaunist und Violinist, und nach einer Kunstreise in Italien fürstbischöflicher Kapellmeister in Eichstädt. Er hat deutsche und italienische Opern geschrieben, die in Eichstädt unter der Regierung Raimund Anton's (v. Strasoldo 1757—1781) gesungen wurden. Dazu eine Menge Kirchen- und Kammermusiken, die zwar zu ihrer Zeit sich auch weiter hin verbreiteten, aber doch Manuscript geblieben zu sein scheinen. —
