  • Biographical Presentation

    Adelhard: Adelard, Scholastiker von St. Trond in dem Sprengel|von Lüttich und seit 1034 Abt von St. Hubert in den Ardennen, † 1055. Er erwarb sich um die Abtei, welche während der Streitigkeiten zwischen Kaiser Heinrich III. und Herzog Gottfried von Lothringen vielfach bedroht und geschädigt ward, namentlich auch durch die Herren des benachbarten Schlosses Mirwart, große Verdienste, indem er dieselbe nicht nur dem Verfall entriß, sondern auch ihre Besitzungen zu erweitern wußte. Heinrich III. verlieh ihm die hohe und niedere Gerichtsbarkeit nebst Markt- und Zollrecht. — (Vgl. die unter dem Namen Cantatorium S. Huberti bekannte Chronik von St. Hubert, M. G. H. SS.
