Biographical Presentation
Fried: Geo. Albrecht F., Arzt, Sohn von Joh. Jac. F., in Straßburg geboren und daselbst 1760 zum Doctor der Medicin creirt, folgte seinem Vater im Amte als Professor der Geburtshülfe nach. Nächst Thebesius (ebenfalls einem Schüler von F.) ist er der Erste gewesen, der ein brauchbares, nach den Grundsätzen seines Vaters bearbeitetes Handbuch der Geburtshülfe ("Anfangsgründe der Geburtshülfe zum Gebrauch seiner Vorlesungen“, 1769, im 2. Abdruck 1787) für deutsche Aerzte verfaßt und damit einem fühlbaren Bedürfnisse in Deutschland abgeholfen hat. Außer dieser Arbeit und einer anderen interessanten Inaugural-Dissertation ("De foetu intestinis plane nudis extra abdomen propendentibus“, Argentor. 1760, auch in Sandifort, Thesaurus I. p. 311 abgedruckt), hat er nichts veröffentlicht, da ein früher Tod (er starb im October 1773) seiner Thätigkeit ein Ende machte.
