Biographical Presentation
Frenzel: Anton F., Dompropst und Weihbischof von Ermland, geb. am 7. August 1790 zu Kostenthal in Schlesien, 1818 zum Priester geweiht, 1821 Professor am Lyceum in Braunsberg, 1831 Domherr, 1844 Dompropst, 1852 Weihbischof zu Frauenburg, † daselbst am 3. April 1873. Er löste 1817 als Student zu Breslau die von der katholisch-theologischen Facultät gestellte Preisfrage: „Ob die Lehre von der schlechthinigen Unauflöslichkeit der Ehe als katholisches Dogma anzusehen sei“. Die Arbeit, in welcher die Frage verneint wurde, wurde 1818 gedruckt. 1864 veröffentlichte F. als Retractation eine Abhandlung: „De indissolubilitate matrimonii commentarius“, Paderborn 1864, worin er die bejahende Antwort auf jene Frage begründete.
