Biographical Presentation
Aaron, Abt von St. Martin in Köln, von Geburt ein Schotte, kam aber schon in der Jugend als Pilger nach Köln zum Schottenkloster St. Martin¶, wurde 1042 Abt desselben und nachher noch an St. Pantaleon, † 14. Dec. 1052 im Rufe der Heiligkeit. In der Bibliothek St. Martin wird von ihm im Mspt. aufbewahrt: „Tract. de utilitate cantus vocalis et de modo cantandi atque psallendi.“ Ein von Trittheim in seinen Hirschauer Annalen angeführter Tractat „De regulis Tonorum et Symphoniarum“ scheint nach Forkel's Meinung (Litt. 485) mit jenem einerlei zu sein.
