Biographical Presentation
Ettinghausen: Konstantin E., österreichischer Generalmajor. Geboren 1760 zu Bingen im Großherzogthum Hessen, trat er als Gemeiner in das erste Husarenregiment ein und machte seine erste Campagne 1788 schon als Offizier mit. Seiner ausgezeichneten Eigenschaften wegen berief ihn Wurmser 1793 als Flügeladjutanten zu sich, in Folge dessen er auch als Major in den Generalstab kam; denselben Ehrenposten bekleidete E. später bei dem Herzog Albert von Sachsen-Teschen. Nachdem er wieder zur Truppe zurückgekehrt und bei verschiedenen Anlässen vortheilhaft durch Tapferkeit und Umsicht sich ausgezeichnet, wurde er 1800 Oberst und Commandant des 4. Husarenregimentes, mit dem er großen Ruhm in den Kämpfen dieses Feldzuges in Italien errang. 1805 focht er abermals mit Auszeichnung bei Caldiero und die großen Kämpfe des J. 1809 machte er als Generalmajor im Hiller’schen Corps mit. Ende dieses Jahres trat er in den Ruhestand und starb den 11. März 1826.
