  • Biographical Presentation

    Arnold: Christoph A., einer der frühesten Buchdrucker Venedigs, aus Preußen stammend (er nennt sich Pruthenus). Man weiß über seine Person zur Zeit nichts weiteres, und selbst in Werken über den Buchdruck Venedigs, wie in denen von Brown und Castellani, sucht man seinen Namen vergebens. Die Drucke, die man bis jetzt von ihm kennt — es sind deren 11 — fallen in die Jahre 1472—1479; es sind meist theologische Werke, doch befinden sich auch einige für weitere Kreise bestimmte Schriften darunter.
