Biographical Presentation
Die Familie wanderte nach der Aufhebung des Edikts von Nantes (1685) mit dem Theologen David (dem Älteren, 1617-92) nach Berlin ein, wo dieser Prediger der französischen Gemeinde und Hofprediger wurde. Sein Sohn David (der Jüngere, 1670–1723) wurde 1692 Nachfolger seines Vaters und war als Hofprediger (seit 1707) einer der beliebtesten Kanzelredner seiner Zeit. König Friedrich I. verwandte ihn mehrfach zu diplomatischen Missionen.
