    Die Familie G. gehört zum Frankfurter Patriziat. Sie ist dort seit der Mitte 13. Jahrhundert verbürgert und war eines der angesehensten Geschlechter der Gesellschaft Alten Limpurg. Mitglieder der Familie bekleideten 52mal das Bürgermeisteramt in Frankfurt. Vermutlich handelt es sich um die Abkömmlinge eines staufischen Ministerialengeschlechtes, das sich nach der 1256 zerstörten Burg Glauberg bei Büdingen, am Rande der Wetterau, nannte. – Im Mannesstamm erloschen 1828.
