    Die Familie stammt ab von dem luth. Pfarrer Johannes Krause, latinisiert Crusius († 1558), dessen Enkel Philip(p) Crusius als v. Krusenstiern († 1676) in Schweden 1649 nobilitiert wurde und Statthalter in Estland war (s. NDB III). Zur Familie gehören (v. Krusenstiern): Friedrich (1782-1857), estländ.
