    Franz. Adelsgeschlecht, das in der Champagne und der Picardie begütert war. Noch vor der Aufhebung des Edikts von Nantes (1685) flüchteten zwei Brüder, einer nach Deutschland, einer nach England. Hier wurde Richard Lestock ( 1746) Admiral und lieferte 1743 den vereinigten Flotten Frankreichs und Spaniens eine Seeschlacht im Mittelmeer (s. Dict. Nat. Biogr. 33). Zur anderen Linie (später in Preußen) gehören: Hermann (s. unten), Johann Ludwig (1712–97), Professor der Rechte, Kanzler der Univ. Königsberg (s. Altpr. Biogr.), Anton Wilhelm (1738–1815), preuß. General d. Kav., Sieger über Napoleon in der Schlacht bei Preuß. Eylau 1807|(s. ADB 18; Priesdorff III, S. 52-60, P), Ludwig Heinrich (1756–1837), preuß. Generalmajor, seit 1816 Ministerresident von Anhalt in Berlin (s. Priesdorff IV, S. 104 f.), ferner die preuß. Generäle Anton Wilhelm (1823–1913, ebd. IX, S. 262-64, P; BJ 18, Tl.), Rudolf (1862–1942) und Anton (1868–1932).
