Biographical Presentation
Die Familie stammt aus Langensalza (Thüringen). Zu ihr gehören u. a. →Christian Andreas (1683–1757), Feldprediger, seit 1726 Pfarrer in Langensalza (seine Frau war eine Großtante von Klopstock), dessen Söhne →Karl Gottlob (1725–1806), Pfarrer und Superintendent in Langensalza, Verfasser von philosophischen Schriften, und →Polycarp August (1730–93), Dr. iur., kursächs. Legationsrat, Gründer der „Neuen Hamburg. Zeitung“, Miteigentümer des „Altonaischen Merkur“ (alle s. Jöcher, W). Der Bruder von Eduard (s. unten) war →Julius (1865–1933), Architekt, dann 1894-1921 Direktor des Mähr. Gewerbemuseums in Brünn, 1921-33 des Salzburger Museums Carolino Augusteum. Er war Gründer und langjähriger Leiter des Verbandes österr. Museen (s. ÖBL, W, L).
