Biographical Presentation
Schurff: Augustin S, Arzt, geboren 1494 in St. Gallen und † 1548 als Professor der Medicin in Wittenberg, war ein tüchtiger Anatom. Er ist als solcher bemerkenswerth dadurch, daß er an genannter Universität 1526 im Monat Juli die erste Section vornahm. Er schrieb außer einigen „Consilia medica“, welche im 7. Buch der Scholz’schen Collectio enthalten sind, noch „Disputatio de peste et de prima materie quae in arte medica traduntur“. Von berühmten Zuhörern des S. sind zu nennen Jan. Cornarius und Magenbucchius.
