    Loë: Johann L. (Loëius), Buchdrucker'zu Antwerpen im 16. Jahrhundert. Von seinen äußeren Lebensverhältnissen ist bis jetzt nichts bekannt geworden und auch als Drucker begegnet sein Name nur auf wenigen Werken aus den Jahren 1545—1561. Von diesen führen wir an: „M. Fabri Quintiliani institutionum orator. Libri XII ... ex officina Joannis Loëi“, MDXLVII. 4°; des lateinischen Dichters Guil. Gnaphaeus „Acolastus“, 1555; „Invictissimo Caesari Carolo Q ... oratio gratulatoria, S. P. Antwerp. nomine exhibita“, 1548. 8° und das durch seinen Inhalt bei weitem wichtigste: „Adagia a Joanne Sartorio in Batavicum sermonem .. conversa“, 1561. 12° (vgl. hierüber den Art. Sartorius, Johannes). Seine Devise war: „Habet et musca splenum“, seine typographische Marke, womit er seine Werke verzierte, ist in der ersten der angezeigten Quellenschriften nachgebildet.
