Biographical Presentation
Lutz: Bartholomäus L., Canonist, geb. zu Mainz am 24. Sept. 1684, † zu Bruchsal 1756. Er machte seine Vorstudien in Mainz, trat hier am 1. Octbr. 1703 bei den Jesuiten ein, wurde mag. phil., legte am 2. Febr. 1720 das vierte Gelübde ab, docirte in Bamberg 1725—1728 Theologie und Kirchenrecht, wurde auf Bemühen von Adam Huth (Bd. XIII, 461) am 18. Juli 1730 Professor der Rechte in Heidelberg, war 1748 und 1749 Gewissensrath des Fürstbischofs von Speier (Franz Christoph Freih. v. Hutten), von 1752—55 Regens des Seminars zu Bruchsal. Schriften: „Ingressus jurisprudentiae in jus ecclesiasticum universum“, 1727; „Jus ecclesiast. universum ex libris V. ep. decret. Greg. IX P. M. secundum praecipuas difficultates per asserta et responsa theologico-Tridentino-canonica ad casus canonicos ex decretis MM. PP. Responsis s. Congr. Em. Card. cet.“, 1727.
