    Martersteck: Johann M., geb. als Sohn eines Predigers am 14. October 1628 zu Ballstädt bei Gotha, ward Hofinspector auf dem Friedenstein zu Gotha und starb als solcher am 11. Januar 1663. Er soll nach einer späteren Angabe der Dichter des zuerst im J. 1655 im Gothaer Cantional anonym erschienenen Abendmahlsliedes „Wie soll ich doch die Güte dein, Jesu, genugsam loben“ sein, das hernach mehrfach, theilweise verändert, in Gemeindegesangbücher aufgenommen ward.
