Biographical Presentation
Matthias von Saarburg, Kapuziner, † zu Mainz am 19. März 1681, ein hervorragender Baumeister, als welcher er von Fürsten und Adel vielfach verwendet wurde. In Mainz wurde ein Theil der kurfürstlichen Residenz unter seiner Leitung aufgeführt, zu Aschaffenburg das gräflich Schönborn’sche Haus, in Franken der Sternbergische Palast. In seinem Orden bekleidete er die Functionen eines Guardian und Provincial.
