  • Biographical Presentation

    Klingenberg: Paul K., geb. zu Hamburg im ersten Viertel des 17. Jahrhunderts, war zuerst holsteinischer Kriegscommissarius, dann königlich dänischer Regierungs-, Admiralitäts- und Etatsrath und Generalpostmeister. Nach seinen Vorschlägen wurde 1650—53 das gesammte Postwesen in Dänemark und Norwegen reorganisirt. Von dem Generalpostmeisteramt in Dänemark trat er 1685, von dem in Norwegen 1694 zurück. Seiner Verdienste wegen wurde er geadelt. Er war auch Stifter der sog. fruchtbringenden Gesellschaft in Kopenhagen, welche 1653 eine Tontine ins Leben rief. Sein Todesjahr ist nicht bekannt.
