  • Biographical Presentation

    Degantz: Nicolaus D. ist insofern für die Geschichte der Medicin und die Universität Greifswald wichtig, als er neben dem Professor Vitalis Fleck und Dr. Johann Stalkäper zu den ersten medicinischen Lehrern in Greifswald gehört, sowie dadurch, daß er eine namhafte Schenkung medicinischer Bücher der Hochschule zuwandte und auf diese Art im J. 1459 Mitbegründer der Greifswalder Universitätsbibliothek wurde. Da er schon 1459 in den Universttätsannalen S. 170 medicinae licentiatus genannt wird, so ist es wahrscheinlich, daß er schon seit der Stiftung der Universität im J. 1456 im akademischen Lehrfache thätig war.
