  • Biographical Presentation

    Pape: Georg (Jürgen) P., der erste Rathsbuchdrucker Hamburgs, trat um 1650 als Buchdrucker auf und entwickelte eine geringe Thätigkeit als Verleger, denn die Meßkataloge verzeichnen seinen Namen nur zweimal: im J. 1651 mit sechs Verlagswerken und 1659 mit einer Veröffentlichung. Unfälle zwangen ihn zuletzt, sein Gewerbe aufzugeben, das er bis zum September 1668 innegehabt hatte; am 18. d. M. ernannte der Rath einen anderen Drucker zum Rathsbuchdrucker.
