Borcholten, Johannes Borcht, Pieter van der

    Borcholten: Statius B. (v. B.), Jurist, Sohn von Johann B., geb. zu Rostock 1. März 1569, studirte zu Rostock, Heidelberg und Helmstädt, wo er 25 Jahre alt zum Doctor der Rechte promovirt wurde und zu einer juristischen Lehrstelle gelangte (etwa 1596—1601). Später Hofrath in der Justizcanzlei zu Zelle, Geh. Rath ebendaselbst, Kanzler im Dienste des Herzogs Friedrich Ulrich zu Braunschweig bei der Grubenhagischen Regierung (um 1615). Todesjahr unbekannt. — Statius B. hat sich verdient gemacht durch viele Auszüge von Schriften seines Vaters. Seine eigenen Arbeiten (meist Dissertationen) zählt Jugler (Beiträge II. Bd. SS. 248. 249) auf.
